
Amalia Polydoropoulou
Dr. Amalia Polydoropoulou is a Professor at University of the Aegean and Director of the Transportation and Decision-Making Laboratory at the Department of Shipping, Trade and Transport, in Chios, Greece. Prof. Polydoropoulou has served as Vice-Rector of Research, Finance, Infrastructure and Development of UAEGEAN (2014-2018). She has extensive experience on travel behavior modeling and forecasting techniques. Her current areas of research at an international level include the adoption of innovative transport modes and services (autonomous vehicles, Mobility as a Service, drones, sharing mobility, electromobility, last-mile delivery), as well as business models for passenger and freight transport. She is participating in several European funded projects (Frontier, We-Transform, OPTIMUM, MaaS4EU, HARMONY). She has served as the Working Group Leader of Transport Systems of the COST action Wise-Act on Autonomous Vehicles. She is the Coordinator of EN.I.R.I.S.S.T. (Intelligent Research Infrastructure on Shipping, Supply Chain, Transport and Logistics), with the participation of 11 Greek Universities and Research Institutions. She has been a member of the Steering Committee of IATBR 2018 and the Committee for the IATBR Lifetime Achievement Award, as well as an active participant of IATBR for more than 10 years.
