Lito Kattou comes from Cyprus and is an artist based in Athens. She studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts and at the Royal College of Art in London where she did postgraduate studies in sculpture. She has received the Ducato Prize 2019 and the New Positions Award of Art Cologne in 2018. She has been the guest artist in resident at the Thalie Foundation, ArtHub Copenhagen, the Polygreen Culture & Art Initiative and the 89plus Google Residency. Recent solo exhibitions have been presented at TRANEN in Copenhagen, at the Galeria Duarte Sequeira in Braga, at T293 in Rome, at the Artothek in Cologne, at the Tile Projects Milan, at the Benaki Museum, at the Point Center for Contemporary Art. She has participated in group exhibitions in museums, galleries and art spaces, including the 7th Athens Biennale, the National Gallery in Sofia, the Culturgest Porto, the Fidelidade Arte Lisbon, the Ludwig Museum in Budapest, the Nottingham Contemporary. Her works are included in private and international collections such as the Daki Ioannou collection, the collection of the Bank of Greece and Deutsche Telekom. Her practice raises questions about the relationship between humans, animals, environment and technology, diversity and coexistence.
