
Dimitris Milonakis
Dimitris Mylonakis is Professor of Political Economy at the Department of Economics of the University of Crete, and Dean of the School of Social Sciences of the University of Crete where he has been elected for two consecutive terms (2014-18 and 2018-21). He studied at the University of London where he received his PhD in 1990. Two of his monographs have won international awards: the Gunnar Myrdal Prize (2009) awarded by the European Association for Evolutionary Political Economy (EAEPE), and the Deutscher Memorial Prize (2009). He is a Visiting Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Cambridge and a Life Member at Clare Hall College of the same University. He is also a Visiting Professor at the following Universities: London (School of Oriental and African Studies, SOAS); Lund, Sweden; Jilin, China; National Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has been a Keynote or Invited Speaker at 18 international scientific conferences and workshops, while he has participated in the organization of 21 international conferences and in 44 as a speaker. He has over 1300 references in his scientific work in international scientific journals and monographs. He is co-editor of the Scientific Series "Political Economy and Development" of the Pluto Press (London), and is or has been a member of the Editorial Board or Guest Editor of three international scientific journals. He has published five books (two monographs and three collective volumes) and dozens of articles in leading international journals in his field and in international collective volumes. He has supervised or is currently the supervisor of 7 doctoral and dozens of postgraduate theses.
